I am so glad I did. I have 30 panels to paint in my garden and only needed to refill the back pack 3 times. The machine is powerful and you do have to be carefull with overspray in the breeze as the gun does create alot of mist. The gun if used with the back pack is really light as a hose runs from the gun head to the large canister so no more aching arm and cleaning is simple also. The DVD which accompanies it is brilliant. Despite the statement on the tin of the exterior emulsion paint that it had to be brushed or rollered, we had a large expanse to cover and decided to use the sprayer. Dilution was a long process as the exterior paint is very thick and the sprayer's literature did not recommend use of the larger container, which meant frequent refilling of the smaller one. The result was excellent and only required a small amount of brushwork. The nozzle positions are easy to change. Cleaning is a bit messy but effective and quickly mastered. Thoroughly effective and versatile and perfect for interior large areas. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful  Oh dear - same old leaks, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Earlex Paint Spray Station 3900 (DIY & Tools) I previously had an Earlex 3000 which I used to spray my fence panels. I have a lot of fence - like a lot. The paint container on the 3000 required filling up every few minutes and leaked preservative badly, so I thought the backpack on the 3900 would be great improvement. Shows how wrong you can be!When this device works it is very good and spraying a panel takes say 1 minute. However, the back pack is a major problem as it too leaks preservative around the lid (unsurprising as it has a similar lid to the 3000) so unless you want preseravtive running down your back, it has to stood on the ground. Which rather defeats the objective. The second problem is the pipes to the backpack which are a push fit onto the container and come off from time to time. These two problems combine to make a basically good product (for spraying preservative) into a real disappointment. I've emailed Earlex on these points. No reply.
